JOB SUMMARY:
This position is primarily responsible for preparing and handling regulatory forms required by the Texas Railroad Commission (RRC) in support of drilling and field operations. Position requires coordination between internal asset disciplines such as Land, Geology, and Operations as well as external regulatory agencies on both state and federal levels with Texas Railroad Commission experience being required and East Texas experience a plus. The position requires a minimum of four (4) years of experience with the ability to work independently and to work cooperatively with agencies and internal team members.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
File various permit applications and subsequent reports to regulatory agencies for E&P operations (such as Drilling Permits, Saltwater Disposal Permits, Down Hole Commingle Permits, etc.)
- Prepare regulatory filings for new wells, completions, recompletions, down hole commingles, workovers, saltwater disposals, plug & abandonment, GAU recommendations, surface casing exceptions, FFA determinations, and other regulatory filings as needed.
- Monitor regulatory compliance issues to ensure prompt action and resolution of problems
- Advise and provide support to E&P groups regarding regulatory requirements, regulatory changes, and other compliance issues
- Manage frequent communications with various regulatory agencies, field personnel, regulatory consultants, and internal staff and management
- Build and maintain relationships with state regulatory agencies
- Be prepared to conduct business travel and be available for extended work hours as needed
- Build Leases, Wells, and Completions and associated header data in company database Enertia
- E-Well File maintenance – Company is paperless so maintaining e-files required
- Assist with acquisitions and divestitures of assets and records associated with Enertia database and e-well files.
- Other duties as assigned by management
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
- Minimum four (4) years' experience as regulatory analyst
- Texas regulatory experience required
- Horizontal well permitting and completion experience required
- Knowledge of reviewing & revising location plats required
- RRC online permitting & completions
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Reliable with good work ethic
- Strong research skills
- Well organized and efficient
- Ability to work with limited supervision
- Ability to work cooperatively with team members and others across various disciplines
Education
Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited four-year university or college or related experience
