Position Summary
Responsible for building and managing data integration solutions that enable seamless data flow across systems supporting operational processes. This role involves developing efficient data pipelines, maintaining data quality and consistency, and optimizing performance for scalability. Collaborating closely with data infrastructure teams and stakeholders, they ensure that integration solutions are aligned with institutional goals.
Principal Duties & Responsibilities
Build and maintain scalable data pipelines, ensuring accurate and consistent data.
Integrate and manage data from various sources, including databases, APIs, and third-party services, ensuring seamless data flow between systems.
Implement data validation and cleansing techniques to resolve anomalies and inconsistencies, following data quality standards.
Work closely with business functions and cross-functional teams to gather requirements, develop data pipelines, conduct thorough testing with stakeholders, and document processes.
Maintain comprehensive documentation of data integrations and processes.
Troubleshoot and resolve data-related issues, ensuring data integrity and availability.
Collaborate with data architects to define data structures, data models, and schema designs.
Stay updated with industry trends and technologies to drive innovation within the team.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Other Attributes
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
1 to 3 years of experience in Data Engineering or a similar role.
Preferred experience with iPaaS tools such as SnapLogic, Informatica, or Talend.
Preferred experience with star schema data warehouse models.
Proficiency in data warehousing concepts and tools (e.g., SQL, Synapse, Snowflake, Redshift).
Strong programming skills in SQL and Python.
Experience with ETL tools, data integration technologies, and familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and related data services.
Excellent problem-solving and communication skills, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred experience working in a higher education setting.
Unusual Working Conditions
Working after hours and on weekends to complete assigned tasks is sometimes required.
