Job Description: Camp HOPE/Pathways Manager
The Camp HOPE/Pathways Manager is a leadership role responsible for the overall management, implementation, and coordination of Camp HOPE America-Safe Futures/Pathways to HOPE Mentoring Program and child advocacy services for residential and community children. This position ensures that services to victims/survivors with children operate smoothly, follow trauma-informed practices, and provide healing and support to youth and families impacted by domestic violence, creating an atmosphere of cultural sensitivity, cooperation and trust with children, families, the community, and the agency. The Program Manager will oversee the planning, execution, and evaluation of all program activities, manage the child advocates, a team of volunteers, and serve as the primary liaison between Safe Futures and Camp HOPE America. The ideal candidate will have experience working with youth from diverse backgrounds, in outdoor recreation, and cultural competency.

Key Responsibilities:
Program Oversight and Management:
- Oversee the full implementation of Camp HOPE/Pathways and child advocacy, ensuring that programs align with the mission, values, and trauma-informed approach of Safe Futures.
- Supervise and lead program staff and volunteers, including child advocates, mentors, counselors, and other participants.
- Coordinate and ensure the success of year-round activities, including monthly events, summer camp sessions, and community-building initiatives.
- Monitor and evaluate the progress and impact of the programs, ensuring that goals are being met and adjusting strategies as needed.
- Ensure compliance with safety and security protocols, including the administration of medical and psychological care during events, and ensure that all staff are trained and prepared for emergencies.
Volunteer & Staff Leadership:
- Recruit, train, and supervise staff (child advocates) and volunteers (mentors, counselors, and coordinators) to ensure they are capable of providing quality trauma-informed support to youth and families.
- Facilitate ongoing training for staff and volunteers, ensuring they are equipped to carry out a trauma-informed approach with youth development principles.
- Foster a positive and supportive team culture, ensuring that all staff and volunteers are motivated, well-prepared, and aligned with Safe Futures mission.
Family and Community Engagement:
- Serve as the primary point of contact for families, external partners, and community organizations involved in the programs.
- Build and maintain relationships with local community partners, including schools, DCF, and other service providers, to ensure comprehensive support for victims and their children.
- Oversee the recruitment and screening of campers, ensuring that the process follows Camp HOPE America guidelines and is culturally responsive.
Program Development & Administration:
- Ensure proper documentation and reporting of program activities, participant progress, and outcomes.
- Develop and distribute program materials, including event invitations, newsletters, and progress reports for families, participants, and stakeholders.
- Administer surveys to gather feedback from families and staff to assess program effectiveness and make improvements.
Leadership & Collaboration:
- Participate in monthly planning meetings and trainings.
- Lead pre-camp meetings, training sessions, and information nights to prepare families, volunteers, and counselors for camp.
- Foster a positive and supportive team culture, ensuring that all staff and volunteers are motivated, well-prepared, and aligned with the program’s mission.
· Other services and assignments as deemed necessary.
Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, Human Services, or a related field.
· 2-4 years of supervisory and program management experience, preferably in youth services or outdoor recreation contexts.
· Experience working with children and families impacted by trauma or domestic violence.
· Experience working with children and addressing their social emotional learning needs
· Experience in outdoor recreation, camping, or youth programs (preferred)
· Cultural competency and an understanding of working with diverse backgrounds.
· Proven leadership and management skills with the ability to motivate and manage a team of diverse staff and volunteers.
· Strong communication (oral and written) and interpersonal skills.
· Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking abilities.
· Strong organizational and time management skills.
· Ability to maintain client/agency confidentiality
· CPR/First Aid Certification and maintain bi-annually
· Domestic Violence Certification, and maintain certification by completing a minimum of six (6) hours of relevant training each year.
· Sexual Harassment Training annually as required by CT State
· Maintain a valid driver's license
· Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
· Bilingual (English/Spanish) (preferred).
· Proficient in Microsoft Office or Google Suite.
