Duties And Responsibilities
- Interview and correspond with policyholders, public adjusters, and attorneys
- Examine claim forms and records to determine coverage
- Responsible for all phases of property claims adjusting
- Manage and direct field adjusters and vendors
- Review case reserves on all assigned claim files to cover probable costs
- Approve or deny adjuster and contractor estimates of damage and loss amounts
- Prepare written reports of investigation, coverage, and damages within the CMS
- Negotiate and settle claims within authority
- Draft denial letters for Claim Manager review
- Investigate and pursue subrogation opportunities
- Work with attorneys to defend the company’s claim position
- Maintain accurate and complete files
- Other tasks and projects as may be assigned
- Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing
- Ability to understand and interpret case files and litigation
- Ability to think critically, research, and evaluate coverage on assigned claims and determine appropriate settlement values
- Ability to manage internal Claims Systems and maintain data
- Ability to offer exceptional customer service
- Ability to think critically, research, investigate, and evaluate coverage on assigned claims and determine appropriate settlement values
- Florida All Lines Adjuster License (620 License) required; reciprocal adjuster's licensure for applicable states required
- Associates Degree required; Bachelor’s Degree preferred. A combination of education and significant directly related experience may be considered in lieu of degree
- At least 2-5 years of experience processing personal and/or commercial property claims
- At least 1-3 years of experience handling litigated, complex, and pre-suit claims
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office products
- Excellent communication skills, ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment, detail-oriented and exceptionally organized
