Job Summary:
Sagamore Spirit is seeking a self-starting, detail-oriented and organized accounting professional to join our team. The candidate will be responsible for performing daily accounting tasks, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial reporting. They will manage high-volume accounts payable and receivable transactions while ensuring accuracy and efficiency. Proficiency in JD Edwards and Microsoft Excel is essential for this role. This role will also support month-end and year-end closing procedures, assist with financial audits, and ensure compliance with accounting standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform day-to-day accounting tasks, including but not limited to journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial reporting.
- Process and manage high-volume AP/AR transactions, ensuring accuracy and timely payments.
- Assist in month-end and year-end closing procedures.
- Support financial audits and ensure compliance with accounting standards.
- Utilize JD Edwards and Microsoft Excel to analyze financial data and generate reports.
- Collaborate with internal teams to improve financial processes and efficiencies.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation for accounting transactions.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in an accounting-related role.
- At least 1 year of experience in public accounting or within a public company (preferred).
- CPA track candidate preferred.
- Proficiency in JD Edwards and Microsoft Suite, specifically Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, and data analysis).
- Strong understanding of AP/AR processes and general accounting principles.
- Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and time management abilities.
- Ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively within a team.
