Position Summary : Under the direction of the Director of Information Technology, the Senior Administrator, Information Technology (IT) will serve as a key advisor to the Director, providing essential support in managing IT operations, projects, and strategic initiatives. The Senior Administrator, IT will lead the development, implementation, and support of technology solutions that align with the school's goals. This role requires expertise in project management, AWS cloud environments, systems development, and a strong background in K-12 education technology.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS and RESPONSIBILITIES
Technology Leadership and Strategy :
Collaborates with the Director of IT to develop and implement technology strategies that support school objectives.Leads initiatives in AWS environment management, including architecture design, implementation, and maintenance.Acts as a liaison between IT and other departments, ensuring alignment between technology solutions and educational needs.Stays current with trends in K-12 educational technology and recommends innovative solutions to enhance the virtual teaching and learning experience.Project Management :
Manages IT projects from conception through completion, ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget.Develops project plans, sets milestones, manages resources, and ensures effective communication across all stakeholders.Leads cross-functional project teams to implement new technology initiatives, including system upgrades and integration projects.Systems Development and Support :
Oversees the development and maintenance of school custom systems, ensuring these systems meet the needs of staff, students, and administrators.Provides technical leadership in systems development, including the design and deployment of new systems and enhancements to existing systems.Ensures the ongoing support and reliability of critical school systems, including data integrity, backup, and disaster recovery plans.Team Leadership :
Supports the Director of IT in managing department staff, including mentoring and providing professional development opportunities.Leads and manages the IT team, providing direction and support to ensure high performance and effective collaboration.Assists in the hiring and onboarding of new IT staff members, ensuring alignment with the school's technology vision.AWS Environment Management :
Designs, deploys, and manages cloud infrastructure in AWS, ensuring scalability, security, and efficiency.Implements best practices for cloud infrastructure management, including cost optimization, resource allocation, and system monitoring.Develops and maintains documentation related to cloud architecture and system configurations.Operational and Technical Support :
Provides hands-on technical support when needed, particularly for complex issues that require advanced expertise.Develops and maintains IT policies, procedures, and standards to ensure the effective use of technology across the school.Assists with vendor management, including evaluating and negotiating contracts for technology services and solutions.Oversight Responsibilities :

Technology Training ManagerSystems Integration (IT) ManagerOther Duties :
Responds to non-urgent communication within 24 school hours and urgent communication within two school hours.Resolves escalated employee, parent, and student issues in alignment with core values and ensuring compliance with the school’s Uniform Complaint Policy; the school’s Uniform Technology Policy; and the provisions of California Penal Code Section 11166 (Child Abuse and Neglect Reporting Act).Performs other duties as assigned.QUALIFICATIONS GUIDE

Experience & Education :
A bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field is required. Applicants must also provide a portfolio showcasing relevant projects, skills, and accomplishments.Minimum of seven years of experience in IT management, with at least three years in a leadership role.Proven experience in project management, preferably in an educational setting, with PMP or similar certification preferred.Strong experience with AWS cloud infrastructure, including architecture, deployment, and management.Experience working in K-12 charter education or a similar environment, with a deep understanding of the unique challenges and opportunities.Other Qualifications :
State and federal fingerprint clearance (LiveScan) to work with students (Ed. Code 44237). No prospective employee can report to work without this clearance being received and the Human Resources Manager notifying the immediate supervisor of this clearance.Proof of a clear TB Tine test or signed Certificate of Completion dated within the last 60 days (Ed. Code 49406) upon employment and thereafter updated every four years.Hold and maintain a valid California Driver’s License, proof of automobile insurance, and full time use of a dependable automobile that is insured pursuant to California regulations.Knowledge :
Computer and technology literacy :Operate office equipment including a calculator, copier, fax machine, computer and assigned software.
