The Maintenance Technician is responsible for assisting the Building Engineer in meeting the safety, maintenance, and general upkeep of the physical plant.

PRIMARY JOB DUTIES:

2. Assist in the maintenance and operations of the community’s HVAC, refrigeration, plumbing, electrical, safety, and communication systems.
3. Complete requests for maintenance and repair in support of residents and employees.
4. Ensure that vacant apartments are expeditiously readied for new residents to include carpet cleaning, painting, and general maintenance.
5. Conduct grounds work to include waste disposal, landscaping, snow removal and pest control.
6. Assist other departments in setting up for resident events and activities.
7. Keep current with all state and facility required annual training.
8. Perform other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:
High school or GED equivalent.
Experience:
2 years’ experience in a maintenance position supporting a physical plant.
Skills:
Demonstrated ability to perform general maintenance tasks.
Able to speak, read, and understand English at a 12th grade level or higher.
Licensures and Certifications:
Current First Aid and CPR certifications preferred.
Valid Pennsylvania driver’s license.
WORKING CONDITIONS & PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Ability to lift/push/pull/carry minimum of 50 lbs without assistance.
Ability to lift/push/pull/carry minimum of 75 lbs with assistance.
Able to bend, kneel, squat, stand, and stoop as needed.
Able to safely and properly operate a motor vehicle.
Able to walk up/down 4 flights of stairs.
Equipment Used:
Hand and Power tools.
Other Requirements:
May be required to stay overnight during extreme weather conditions.
