HUMAN RESOURCES COORDINATOR

SUMMARY OF POSITION : The Human Resources Coordinator supports the Human Resources Department by facilitating human resources and payroll processes for the Carrollton Public School District. This role also provides administrative support to the Director of Human Resources and the Central Office while serving as the point of contact for recruitment, benefits, payroll, and other Human Resources-related matters.

REPORTS TO : Director of Human Resources

WORK YEAR : 52 weeks / year.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT : Full-time, Hourly; Non-union

COMPENSATION : $19.23 to $24.52 per hour

QUALIFICATIONS :

  • Bachelor's degree in human resources or related field or equivalent experience.
  • At least two years of related experience is required.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds.
  • Ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively with others.
  • Ability to accurately interpret and communicate policy and collective bargaining agreement language.
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Working understanding of human resource and payroll principles, practices, and procedures.
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to function well in a high-paced environment.
  • Proficient with Human Resource Management, Microsoft Office, Google, and related software.
  • Must satisfactorily pass : Law enforcement background check with fingerprinting.

Personal and professional reference background check.

  • Must receive a satisfactory response to a P.A.189 letter (Misconduct Law).
  • RESPONSIBILITIES :

  • Performs customer service functions by answering employee requests and questions.
  • Assists in the overall recruitment process, including preparing and posting job vacancies, coordinating interviews, tracking candidates' status in HRIS, and responding with follow-up letters at the end of the recruiting process.
  • Coordinates new employee onboarding, including preparing offer letters, assisting with conducting orientation sessions, and processing new hire paperwork, including I-9 forms and verifications.
  • Coordinates offboarding processes, including processing terminations and completing employee exit interviews and forms.
  • Processes enrollments, changes, and terminations for healthcare plans. Processes required documents through payroll and insurance providers to ensure accurate record-keeping and proper deductions.
  • Reconciles benefits statements and submits payment requests to the Finance Department.
  • Prepares spreadsheets for payroll and verifies reports to ensure accuracy before submitting them for payroll processing. Ensures that Schedule B and stipend payments are processed in a timely manner.
  • Enters, maintains, and / or processes information in the payroll system; information may include employees' hourly rates, salaries, commissions, bonuses or other compensation, time worked, paid leave and holidays, deductions and withholding, address changes, and other information.
  • Ensures proper pre-processing of payroll deductions for taxes, benefits, and other deductions.
  • Acts as a liaison between staff and the SISD for payroll questions, resolving discrepancies, and submitting payroll documents.
  • Responsible for assisting with planning, scheduling, and coordinating all events in the Human Resources Department, such as meetings, conferences, training, recognitions, etc.
  • Responsible for assisting with preparing, distributing, and maintaining employee and Schedule B contracts for certified, non-bargaining, and administrative staff.
  • Assists with training enrollments and monitoring completion of staff training.
  • Monitors completion of staff performance evaluations.
  • Performs clerical functions including but not limited to making photocopies, scanning, printing, and assisting with or preparing correspondence via mail or email as requested.
  • Responsible for employee data management, recording, and filing of employee information, including electronic and hard copy.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
