Saint John’s Program for Real Change mission is to provide a safe space for women and children to heal and develop the skills necessary to transform their lives. We accomplish our mission by holding to our vision to end the generational cycle of trauma and homelessness.
We operate the largest residential program for formerly homeless women and children in the Sacramento region providing services 24 hours/day, 365 days/year, offering shelter, meals, childcare, and comprehensive support services, including Behavioral Health Services, Hands-on Employment Training, Career Education, and Family Services.

Position Overview
TITLE Staff Accountant
SALARY From $60,000 To $72,800 Annually
CLASSIFICATION Full-Time, Non-Exempt
LOCATION On Site Only – Jackson Rd. Sacramento, CA
SCHEDULE Monday- Friday, 9-5pm
About the Position…
The Staff Accountant works under the supervision of the Chief Financial Officer to assist in financial operations and maintaining proper procedures. As Staff Accountant you will be responsible for deposits, reconciliations, and finances for housing assistance programs.
You’ll be responsible for…

Review and code Accounts Payable entries and grant coding.

Process and record bank deposits.

Provide support for grant invoicing.

Calculate and File Sales Tax Reports.

Manage the modular home security deposit and rent payments.

Assist with month end close reconciliations including bank and credit card reconciliations.

Provide support for various audits and year end close.

Perform other duties assigned by the CFO.
You must have...
-
An associate’s degree in accounting or equivalent work experience
-
3 -5 years’ experience in routine accounting activities (accounts payable, vendor set-up, account reconciliations, etc) preferably in a business and/or non-profit environment

Solid understanding of bookkeeping and General Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)

Fluent in English language (spoken and written)

Detail-oriented with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills

High level of integrity and discretion when handling confidential financial information

Highly proficient with Microsoft Suite (Excel, Word, Teams, Outlook) and QuickBooks Online

Ideally has experience with Bill.com
