Primary Function
The Line Production Supervisor is responsible for directing the activities of the leads with an emphasis on product quality, on-time delivery, cost, and factory production efficiency. Additionally, the Supervisor is responsible for supporting key business metrics, general housekeeping, workplace safety, and managing a team. The Supervisor will evaluate job performance and conduct team member job performance evaluations on a monthly basis in a measurable manner. This role also requires a natural ability to plan, a sense of urgency, and the ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Maintain a safe and clean work environment by maintaining compliance with established policies and procedures and utilizing the 5S pillars (Sort, Set in order, Shine, Standardize, Sustain).
- Ensure a work environment exists for employees that provides strong interaction between all shift team members to effectively communicate concerns regarding production.
- Identify resource needs with backup data such as time studies, capacity, etc., as well as ensure that the production schedule is met.
- Set the direction relative to manufacturing goals and direct Leads and associates to ensure day-to-day production needs are met.
- Ensure material is handled adequately in order to avoid damage and/or prevent loss.
- Ensure all manufacturing processes needed to build a quality product are in place and up to date.
- Action any CPAR (Corrective Actions) issued to you with thorough and thoughtful analysis while closing them in the required timeframe.
- Monitor and ensure Scrap and DMR’s are managed real-time with the appropriate root cause and corrective action analysis as needed.
- Ensure cycle counts are performed as needed in order to keep WIP counts accurate.
- Approve leave and overtime; complete and/or review attendance records; accept resignations; initiate terminations; process layoff actions, create and monitor employee improvement plans. Address and resolve employee concerns in collaboration with Human Resources and management
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Conduct monthly job performance evaluations for team members in a measurable manner.
- Conduct root cause analysis using tools such as fishbone diagrams (Ishikawa), 5 Whys, and other problem-solving techniques to address production issues and implement corrective actions.
- Conduct investigative actions such as reasonable suspicion objectively and professionally, following the escalation process and utilizing the line of management as necessary.
- High School diploma or GED.
- Bachelor’s or Associate’s in a technical or business-related field preferred.
- Minimum 3 years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing or production environment preferred.
- Sound working knowledge of lean manufacturing with demonstrated team participation and/or leadership and related continuous improvement successes.
- Experience in leadership, problem-solving, conflict resolution, and organization.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience with reading and interpreting data (data-driven analysis).
- Ability to work well independently and in a team environment.
- Experience working with industrial manufacturing equipment on a production line.
- Knowledge of 5S, lean manufacturing, continuous improvement, Kaizen, and Kanban.
- Understanding of GMPs and PPEs, and adherence to safety protocols.

- Incumbent must be able to operate a computer.

- Lift a minimum of fifty (50) pounds frequently on a daily basis.
