We are looking for a Teller for our Salem, NH branch who will receive and pay out money while maintaining records of money and negotiable instruments involved in financial transactions while providing excellent customer service consistently and accurately.

How you will accomplish this:
  • Receive checks and cash for deposit, verify amounts and examine checks for endorsement
  • Cash checks and pay out money after verification of payee’s identity and right to the cash, signature(s) and customer balance.  Image each transaction and ensure each transaction balances.
  • Enter customers’ and Universal Bankers’ transactions into computer to accurately record transactions and issue computer generated receipts.  Maintain cash count screens showing customer’s name and details of all cash transactions.
  • Place holds on accounts for uncollected funds and complete FinCEN Form 104 (CTR) as needed
  • Order daily supply of cash and count incoming cash.  Maintain cash drawer limit in accordance with Bank security policy.
  • Balance currency, coin and checks in cash drawer at end of day/shift and compare total amounts with data displayed on computer screen
  • Issue negotiable instruments
  • Process night bags, ATM deposits, loan payments and outgoing/incoming mail
  • Answer customer inquiries
  • Learn all Teller functions and keep current with all system updates
  • Cross sell and refer bank products and services
  • Comply with all Bank policies, procedures and regulatory requirements

What you will bring to the role:
  • High school diploma and 1-3 years of related banking or cash handling experience
  • General knowledge of banking regulations, products, and services preferred
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate with and respond to questions from customers and from other departments within the Bank
  • Strong computer skills
  • Must be accurate and detail-oriented
