Your Role With Us:Intake Coordinator-Non RN This role involves managing and triaging patient referrals and healthcare provider requests, ensuring accurate entry and tracking of patient information in EPIC, and supporting both patients and staff with non-clinical needs. Key responsibilities include scheduling appointments, addressing urgent cases, and assisting patients with access to resources like transportation and food services. The position emphasizes delivering empathetic and professional customer service while maintaining departmental organization through clerical tasks such as managing files, calendars, and educational materials. Additionally, it includes providing general support for daily operations, ensuring efficient and effective departmental workflows. Referral Management:Triage and manage incoming patient referrals and healthcare provider requests.Track referral volume and maintain metrics.Enter accurate patient information into EPIC.Patient Interaction:Acquire patient information with professionalism and empathy.Address patient and provider non-nursing needs, including urgent cases.Assist patients with resources like transportation, dental services, and food pantries.Customer Service:Deliver excellent service with empathetic and courteous behavior.Address patients' fears, anxiety, and anger appropriately.Explain CSS services clearly and effectively.Scheduling:Schedule patient appointments, including intake and dietitian consultations.Manage the daily work queue and route tasks appropriately.Clerical Support:Provide support to the CSS Supervisor and team.Maintain files, calendars, and educational materials.Organize staff meetings and complete mailings.General Support: Answer phones, schedule patients, and assist with daily operations as needed.Ensure smooth departmental functioning by handling various administrative tasks.Total Rewards Offerings: Salem Health's comprehensive benefits package prioritizes your mental and physical health, financial stability, family obligations and professional growth.Relocation assistance available for qualified positionsFull comprehensive medical, dental, and vision plansBasic and voluntary life insuranceShort and long-term disabilityLive Well Wellness ProgramEmployee Assistance Program (EAP) 401(K) retirement plan with employer contributions.Generous paid time off (PTO) accrual and holiday pay Onsite fitness center with 24/7 badge accessEducation assistance programPublic service loan forgiveness (PSLF) eligible employer https://studentaid.gov/Food and drink discounts in the cafeteriaImpressive discounts offered by Nike, Adidas, Carhartt and othersBackground/Expertise:Experience:Minimum of one (1) year experience working in medical environment required. Experience with insurance pre-authorization, billing and coding preferred. Knowledgeable of both manual and computer tracking of scheduling systems. Special knowledge, skills, & abilities:Ability to prioritize tasks and successfully handle multiple and changing priorities. Proficient with Microsoft Word and GroupWise, working knowledge of Microsoft PowerPoint and Excel. Excellent typing and transcription skills Excellent skill in correct use of English and grammar. Skilled at exercising tact and sound judgment. Strong communications, interpersonal, organizational, and customer service orientation. Capable of gathering and reporting statistical data.
