Description :
This role involves working in a 25-bed Labor & Delivery unit.
The unit includes L&D, postpartum, newborn care, two operating rooms, two anesthetic nursing unit rooms, and recovery rooms.
The facility is a large hospital with over 400 beds, including medical-surgical and ICU beds.
Labor & Delivery experience, postpartum skills, the ability to circulate, and newborn care are essential skill sets.
The clinician-to-patient ratio is 1 : 2-3 evaluations and 1 : 1 for active labor, magnesium infusion, or epidural in labor and delivery.
For postpartum, the ratio is 1 : 3-4.
All patient populations are served in this role.
The unit consists of five labor and delivery rooms, twelve postpartum rooms, two operating rooms, two recovery rooms, and two anesthetic nursing unit rooms with four beds.
The average daily census covers 15-25 mothers, babies, and labor cases.
The charting system used is EPIC.
Floating is not required for this position.
Day rotation shifts are 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., 11 a.m. to 11 p.m., and 7 p.m. to 7 a.m.
Evening and night positions consist of straight shifts.
