Overview
The Correctional Officer plays a vital role in maintaining safety and security within correctional facilities. This position requires a dedicated individual who is committed to upholding the law and ensuring the well-being of both inmates and staff. As a Correctional Officer, you will be responsible for monitoring inmate behavior, enforcing rules, and facilitating rehabilitation efforts while maintaining a professional demeanor at all times.

Duties

• Supervise inmates in various settings including housing units, recreation areas, and during transport.
• Conduct regular inspections of facilities to ensure compliance with safety regulations and security protocols.
• Write detailed reports on inmate behavior, incidents, and daily activities.
• Respond to emergencies and conflicts with effective conflict management strategies.
• Utilize CCTV systems to monitor inmate activities and maintain security.
• Enforce facility rules and regulations while promoting a safe environment for staff and inmates.
• Provide first aid and CPR when necessary, ensuring the health and safety of all individuals within the facility.
• Collaborate with law enforcement agencies as needed to support investigations or incidents.

Requirements

• Previous experience in law enforcement or a related field is preferred.
• Certification in CPR and First Aid is highly desirable.
• Strong report writing skills to document incidents accurately.
• Ability to manage conflict effectively in high-pressure situations.
• Military experience may be beneficial but is not required.
• Must possess a valid certification relevant to correctional officer duties as mandated by state regulations.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, are essential for effective interaction with inmates and staff.
• A commitment to upholding ethical standards and maintaining confidentiality at all times.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $20.00 - $26.00 per hour
