Position Summary: Salpointe Catholic High School is looking for an experienced Accounting Assistant. This is a temporary position to fill in while an employee is out on medical leave. It is currently a part-time position but could move to full-time. This position is responsible for Accounts Receivable/Accounts Payable as well as Tuition Management.
Duties include:
- Process and record all deposits received in the Finance Office
- Process tuition payments
- Accept and count cash, prepare deposits and prepare cash boxes for athletic events
- Provide information and excellent customer service for parent inquiries on student accounts and other school information
- Pay vendors by scheduling checks and ensuring payment is received for outstanding credit; generally responding to all vendor inquiries regarding finance
- Keeping track of all payments and expenditures, including purchase orders, invoices, statements, etc.
- Reconcile processed work by verifying entries and comparing system reports to balances
- Resolve invoice discrepancies
- Maintain historical records
- Prepare analysis of accounts and produce monthly reports
- Assist Finance Office with day to day operations
- Other duties as assigned
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Provide outstanding customer service
Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word and Google Applications
Attention to detail
Ability to work with complex spreadsheets and our financial database
Ability to multi-task with interruptions
Comfortable with cash transactions
Analytical and critical thinking
Experience working with Tuition Support Organizations a plus
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience
Solid employment history with verifiable references
Ability to pass a background check.
Salary : $17 - $22
