Saw Operator- Dar

Description

JOB DESCRIPTION: This position requires the ability of reading and understanding prints and cut sheets to cut materials to designated lengths. Must be proficient with tape measure and protractors. Must be skilled with the knowledge of material shapes and thicknesses. This position requires good team working skills as well as working with little supervision.

Primary Job Responsibilities:

• Able to read tape measure accurately to 1/16”
• Able to operate a saw in a safe manner
• Able to follow all safety rules and guidelines
• Able to read prints and cut sheets
• Able to accurately cut material on saw and saw tables
• Able to adjust saw feed rates and pressures to various material
• Perform maintenance on saw and saw tables

ENVIRONMENT & WORKING CONDITIONS:

• Ability to work in all weather conditions as job requires working inside and outside through the course of a single shift
• Ability to work in the natural element of heat and cold (production facility is not heated in winter nor cooled in summer)

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to work scheduled shifts
• Ability to bend, stoop, sit, grasp with hands, feel texture with fingers, cling, walk, twist, stand, and work on concrete for up to twelve hours per day up to six (6) days per week
• Must be able to work at heights of greater than 6 feet on a regular basis/as work dictates
• Ability to work overtime when necessary/required and with short notice

SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED: 

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Previous experience in a manufacturing or production environment preferred
• Ability to operate machinery and equipment
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Good communication and teamwork skills
• Ability to stand for long periods of time and lift up to 50 pounds

• Punctual
• Properly and accurately read a tape measure in one inch increments
• Communicate clearly with others

Qualifications

SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

• Demonstrate the ability to read a tape measure to 1/16” increments
• Must be able to operate basic hand tools (grinder & drill)
• Previous experience as a Saw Operator
