Front Office Specialist I

Provides reception and administrative support services to patients and providers within and outside the SHS system.

• DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION

The Child / Adolescent Mental Health teams at Samaritan Health Services provide a full range of professional mental health services through a team of highly skilled psychiatrists, psychologists, nurse practitioners and licensed clinical social workers.

• EXPERIENCE / EDUCATION / QUALIFICATIONS

High school diploma or equivalent required.

• Experience or training with computer applications required.
• One (1) year experience and / or training in a position of similar responsibility and complexity preferred.
• Experience or training in medical / insurance terminology preferred.
• Experience with practice management scheduling systems preferred.
• Mental Health experience preferred.

• Medical Terminology - Knowledge of medical records, procedures and terminology. Ability to read, interpret, and apply policies, procedures, laws, and regulations.
• Social Perceptiveness - Ability to work with a diverse population from pediatrics to geriatrics. Basic understanding of age-related differences in caring for and / or communicating with patients and caregivers. Possess personal sensitivity to the needs and experiences of others and a non-judgmental attitude towards persons of differing standards, values, lifestyles, and ages.
