Job Overview
Samuel and Althea Stroum Jewish Community Center seeks a highly motivated Camp Operations Specialist to join our team. As a Camp Operations Specialist, you will play a vital role in ensuring the success of our camp programs by supervising Camp Counselors and/or Specialists while assisting the Senior Coordinator in daily duties.
Responsibilities
The ideal candidate will assume responsibilities for children under their care to ensure a positive and safe experience. This includes actively supervising Camp Counselors and/or Specialists in designated program(s), providing constructive feedback to staff, and ensuring the safety, health, and welfare of campers and staff. The successful candidate will also be responsible for assisting in communication with parents and staff, supporting the emotional and social well-being of campers, and communicating regularly with the rest of the J Camp staff team. Additionally, they will work closely under the direction of a Senior Coordinator and assist them in daily operations.
Requirements
To be successful as a Camp Operations Specialist, you should have a current CPR/AED and First Aid Certification for adults/infants/children through an approved certifying body. Experience working with children is preferred, and a willingness to learn is essential. You must be able to perform work on weekends and evenings as needed to meet applicable deadlines or scheduling needs.
