Benefits and Retirement
Purpose: The Construction Manager is responsible for the execution, overall administrative and
technical direction for a construction project. Additionally, Construction Manager to be responsible
for the implementation and adherence to all Safety or Quality policies and procedures. Lead the
development and implementation of craft work packaging. As well as responsible for the
comprehensive implementation, coordination, and execution of all subcontracts for the
construction of a facility.
Additional Compensation: Per Diem will be included in pay and determined on a project by project basis.
Trips home and a company truck will be provided; when applicable. (This information will be further
explained in the Samuel EPC Employee Exempt Handbook)
Pay rates: Salary rate will not escalate due to additional hours worked. Pay rate will be determined for a
project and will remain at said rate regardless of hours worked. Assignment to Home Office work will have
a different pay rate than rate established for field assignments.
Payable Bonus options can be achieved based on exceeding profit margins for projects.
Work Schedule: Varies by location. Must have open availability any time, any day of the week.
Essential Skills (may include but are not limited to the ability to)
Assist with implementation/interpretation of safety programs.
Oversee total construction effort to ensure projects are constructed in accordance with
design, budget and schedule.
Provide direction to planning constructability, building work packages and scheduling efforts.
Plan, coordinate and/or supervise construction activities of all superintendents on assigned
projects.
Interact with customer.
Provide leadership to site team and efficiently coordinate any subcontractors at the same time on
the same site.
Authorize/approve project personnel transactions including hiring, transfers, training,
wages, etc. through effective management of project superintendents.
Interface with Project Manager, Engineering staff, Subcontractors, client representatives
(including 3rd party inspections), to ensure all company, client, and project policies and
procedures are adhered to.
Work with in precise limits and standards of accuracy
Follow oral and written directions and perform other duties as assigned by the Director of
Construction.

Work within company policy as outlined in the Samuel EPC Exempt Employee Handbook,
compliant with the Samuel EPC Human Resources Policy Manual, and with the Samuel EPC Safety
Manual and OSHA Safety rules.
Essential Qualifications
Ten (10) years of formal training and experience in heavy industrial projects such as
refineries, petro-chemical complexes, power plants, etc.
Possess excellent leadership skills and have the ability to effectively manage employees,
budgets, and construction schedules.
Knowledgeable of current construction technology such as Primavera P6, Microsoft
Word, Excel and PDF modification program such as Bluebeam or Adobe.
Ability to effectively interact with employees, clients, and subcontractors.
Familiar with construction methods, techniques, and labor requirements and how they
apply to industrial construction projects.
Previous hands-on Project Superintendent experience.
Ability to work with others to develop a team atmosphere and achieve job goals.

Environment: Works out of a field office at the construction site or occasional out of the main office, monitors
all phases of execution of the construction project, may travel when not assigned to a construction site,
usually entails temporary residence away from primary residence. Expected to deal with delays, the effects
of bad weather, or emergencies at the site. Although the work usually is not considered inherently
dangerous, must be careful while performing onsite services.
