The Community Engagement Manager is a strategic leader responsible for designing, implementing, and evaluating initiatives that promote equity, inclusion, and belonging across the organization and within the community. This role exercises discretion and independent judgment to shape and grow key programming—such as employee resource groups, cultural engagement initiatives, equity-focused training for internal and external audiences, and strategic community partnerships.
As a subject matter expert in diversity, equity, inclusion, belonging (DEIB), and social justice best practices, the Community Engagement Manager advises leaders, monitors relevant trends and research, and serves as a key driver of SS&E’s culture strategy. Through cross-functional collaboration and stakeholder engagement, this role influences organizational effectiveness and fosters an inclusive environment that reflects SS&E’s commitment to impactful, sustainable change.
What You’ll Do:
- Lead strategic development and implementation of metrics and reporting frameworks that evaluate Impact initiatives across all franchises.
- Oversee execution of philanthropic strategies and community investment initiatives, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and measurable outcomes.
- Direct the creation, implementation, and assessment of place-based community and civic engagement strategies, including evaluation of long-term impact and sustainability.
- Lead the cross-functional development and execution of the organization’s sustainability strategy, integrating stakeholder input and ensuring alignment with corporate social responsibility objectives.
- Serve as a strategic partner across departments to align Impact programs—community sports, philanthropy, DEIB, leadership, and sustainability—with organizational vision, and exercise judgment in prioritizing initiatives.
Who You Are:
- 3-5 years of experience in program management, community and civic engagement, leadership development, education, and/or other related fields.
- 3-5 years of experience in developing/communicating metrics around community impact.
- Strong knowledge of community development theories, models, and best practices.
- Proven ability to independently develop and lead strategic initiatives with organizational visibility and impact.
- Experience influencing executive-level decision-making and representing the organization in high-stakes community or partner engagements.
- Demonstrated capacity to exercise discretion and judgment in ambiguous or evolving environments.
- Strong public speaking and facilitation skills.
- Enjoys research and analyzing data.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and other computer skills.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks.
- The ability to work independently and coordinate multiple task
Physical Requirements:

- Standing and walking occasionally (e.g., moving to other areas of the office)
- Lifting and carrying light items (usually up to 10–25 lbs, such as files, office supplies, or small office equipment)
