The Job

The Office of the Assessor-Recorder-County Clerk (ARC) is recruiting for Records Technicians Trainee who work under close supervision and in a learning capacity. The training curriculum assists with developing the required knowledge and skills to independently determine the recordability or filing of legal source documents; retrieve, research, prepare, and/or provide certified copies of legal documents, Official Records, and Vital Records; assist the public in self-service research of Official Records of property ownership, deeds, liens, etc., via microfiche and archives; prepare copies of maps and documents; calculate and collect fees; issue applications for Marriage Licenses and perform civil marriage ceremonies; and accept, review, and process filing applications for Fictitious Business Name Statements, Abandonments, Dissolutions of Partnership, Withdrawals of Partnership, and Proof of Publications.
The resulting eligible list may be used to fill immediate and future vacancies throughout the County as they occur.

Travel: 1) Work locations may vary to meet departmental needs. 2) Incumbents will be required to provide their own transportation, be willing to travel to all locations as needed, and work some evenings, weekends, and holidays. 3) Offices are currently located in Hesperia, Joshua Tree, and San Bernardino and the RV-Mobile Unit. 4) A valid California Class C Driver License is required to carry out the essential job-related functions of this position. Mileage reimbursement and proof of automobile liability insurance must be maintained.
