Established in 1886, the prestigious San Diego Yacht Club is a part of the incredible history of San Diego. Home to many world class sailors and Olympians, we are consistently ranked among the top 5 yacht clubs in the Nation and recently recognized as being one of the top 50 yacht clubs in the world.
Joining our team has great perks including a service charge from a percentage of the daily sales incorporated into your paycheck on top of the hourly pay advertised. Tips will also be added on top of your hourly pay.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
· Ensures that all members and guests receive proper, attentive, courteous, and expedient service in a clean and pleasant atmosphere.
· Always wear appropriate uniforms prescribed by policy and maintain personal cleanliness.
· Responsible for opening/side-duties/closing duties for shift worked.
· Familiarize yourself with the daily menu and specials.
· Answer dining room questions (must be knowledgeable of operating hours and other pertinent club information).
· Pre-bus tables to keep a cleanly atmosphere for the members.
· Keep constant communication with members to assist their needs.
· Bring waters to new tables.
· Must be able to carry a tray.
· Restock server stations to keep a functioning workspace.
· Polish glassware to prepare for restocking.
· Reset tables to proper function to allow table turnover.
· Provide excellent service and attention to details for all guests throughout their dining experience and immediately correct any deficiencies noted.
· Communicate with servers, hosts, and bartenders throughout the shift to keep them notified of any changes in reservations.
· Participate in the continuous cleaning and upkeep of the restaurant and service stations.
· Notify the Manager on Duty (MOD) if you need to leave your station for any reason
· Inform the MOD of any complaints or compliments or issues immediately.
· Adherence to schedules and on-time attendance at all line-ups.
· To work well as a team member with the entire club staff.
· have a professional and friendly tone and action.
· Operate under all guidelines, policies, standards, and constraints as set forth by the Club (see employee handbook).
Must be willing to work, holidays & weekends. Must have proof of current ServSafe/Food Handlers etc. certificates while employed at SDYC, and weekend availability to be considered for this positions.
