Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Proactively identifies, defines, and clarifies the scope and objectives of assigned projects, ensuring alignment with business goals.
  • Develops project budgets, meticulously planning for scope of work and resource allocation to ensure financial efficiency.
  • Tracks project expenditures, ensuring adherence to budgetary constraints.
  • Develops and maintains comprehensive project schedules and work plans, leveraging advanced project management tools and methodologies.
  • Creates contingency planning and schedule recovery plans to ensure timely project delivery, as necessary.
  • Oversees and streamlines coordination with vendors, suppliers, and external partners, optimizing performance and deliverables.
  • Regularly communicates project status, strategic adjustments, and progress to stakeholders, fostering transparency and engagement.
  • Leads, schedules, and enhances the effectiveness of project meetings, ensuring optimal collaboration and coordination among team members.
  • Acts as a central liaison among departments, staff, contractors, vendors, and external agencies, driving project completion within allocated timelines and budgets.
  • Achieves consensus among senior leadership and all key stakeholders on project design and scope, ensuring deliverables meet or exceed customer expectations.
  • Critically evaluates project documents, including scope, design, and specifications, to ensure quality and adherence to directives, providing constructive feedback where necessary.
  • Manages contractor and/or vendor engagements, including reviewing and approving submittals, RFIs, change orders, and design modifications.
  • Facilitates permit applications, tracks permit status, and manages plan check comments response and resubmittal to all Authorities Having Jurisdiction (“AHJs”).
  • Coordinates inspections and approvals from Third Party Testing Agencies and AHJs, securing necessary project clearances.
  • Reviews contractor and/or vendor pay applications, prevailing wage documentation, and other necessary contract documents. Submits invoices recommended for payment to Accounts Payable and ensures timely payment of all work performed.
  • Engages in facility assessments, inspections, and Capex planning, contributing to long-term asset management strategies.
  • Collaborates with Legal and Procurement to prepare and execute Public Works Project bids, ensuring transparent and effective project award processes. Provides necessary information for the successful award of all Capex Projects by the Santa Clara Stadium Authority (“SCSA”) Board.
  • Manages project documentation, ensuring comprehensive filing and accessibility for future reference.
  • Prepares project closeout procedures and manages project punch list until final project completion on all assigned projects.
  • Additional responsibilities as required.

  • Demonstrated ability to shepherd projects from inception through completion, balancing strategic and tactical demands.
  • Possesses practical supervisory and organizational skills to manage time effectively while balancing and prioritizing multiple or competing tasks.
  • Displays a technical knowledge of the design process from concept to construction documentation.
  • Familiarity with construction practices and methodologies, ensuring realistic and practical project planning and execution.
  • Drives innovation and creativity, identifying and implementing cutting-edge solutions and design trends.
  • Exercises patience and determination in problem-solving, ensuring swift and effective resolution of project challenges.
  • Excels under the pressure of tight timelines and complicated projects with demanding stakeholders.
  • Recognizes personal bias and others’ tendency toward bias and takes measures to mitigate the influence of bias in business decisions.
  • Demonstrates flexibility and commitment to project success.
  • Demonstrates ability to effectively build a network of contacts at all levels within the industry and in the community, both internally and externally.


Education and Experience:

  • At least 5-7 years’ relevant work experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Construction project management experience strongly preferred.
  • Experience with Microsoft Suite including Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Word.

The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk and lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust focus.

This position requires the ability to work extended hours and/or weekends.

Travel:

0% of travel time expected for the position, where the travel occurs, such as locally or in specific countries or states, and whether the travel is overnight.

Salary : $105,000 - $110,000
