We’re looking for a dependable and proactive Customer Service & Operations Assistant to join our team in a hybrid role.
About the Role
This is a hybrid position, with an estimated 50/50 split between remote and in-office work. This balance is subject to change based on company needs or seasonal demands. This role blends customer service with light operations coordination, and includes exposure to marketing and logistics. Occasional travel may also be required to support operations or assist with marketing efforts on location.
We're also looking for someone with growth potential: based on performance, there is a clear opportunity to advance into a Customer Service Manager position.
What You’ll Do
- Respond to customer phone calls, emails, and chats with professionalism and empathy.
- Guide customers through the rental process and enter/update orders in our system.
- Coordinate delivery schedules with drivers in various coastal regions to ensure timely service.
- Address customer issues calmly and efficiently, offering solutions when problems arise.
- Maintain a flexible schedule, including occasional evening and weekend availability (especially during peak season from April to October).
- Work from the Crofton office several days a week to assist with administrative or hands-on tasks.
- Support marketing by coordinating with external creatives and helping collect user-generated content.
- Assist with video-related tasks such as taking or editing short clips for social media or promotional use (bonus if you already have experience here).
- Pitch in during slower periods with tasks like light bookkeeping, light maintenance, or general warehouse support.
What We’re Looking For
- Experience in customer service, admin, or operations support preferred.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to multitask effectively.
- Highly organized, self-motivated, and flexible.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (especially Word and Excel), and comfortable learning new mobile apps.
- Reliable transportation for commuting to the Crofton office and occasional travel.
- Bonus: Experience capturing and editing video content for marketing or social media is a plus.
- Bonus: Background in communications, marketing, or small business support.
Requirements
- Able to work remotely in a productive and quiet environment, with reliable high-speed internet.
- Ideal candidates will be located near Crofton, MD with reliable transportation to allow for occasional in-person support with little notice.
- Flexibility to work some evenings/weekends during busy months.
- Willingness to travel occasionally and assist with offsite activities or operations.
- Comfortable shifting between remote communication tasks and in-person support work.
