Wedding Sales Manager

General Purpose:

Wedding Sales Manager’s responsibility is to sell and service the Sandestin Golf & Beach Resort to wedding clients, couples and planners. In addition, increase the number of weddings with positive contribution to room revenues and food & beverage while providing a high level of customer service.

Essential Duties:

• Responds to wedding inquiries and assists clients with questions regarding venue space and food and beverage operations.
• Establish strategies to target opportunities for increased market share.
  
• Maintains schedules and records of available space, space used, and cancellations.
  
• Determines suitability of space for requested activities such as special events/weddings.
  
• Coordinates site visits with potential clients to view wedding venues. Must be available on the weekend to conduct site visits.
• Generates detailed wedding proposals to clients.
  
• Prepares, creates and executes wedding agreements to the client.
• Coordinates all special event/wedding details for bookings.
• Works closely with the Wedding & Special Events Manager after the contract is executed.
• Prepares and distributes complete and concise banquet event orders and booking recaps.
• Creates and maintains – in conjunction with a Finance Representative – all wedding invoices and estimates.
• Maintains Vendor Relations with area photographers, DJ’s, officiants, wedding coordinator companies, cake vendors, florists, etc.
• Maintains relations with Resort Departments to ensure venue space is clean and well-kept.
• May assist with last minute changes and cleaning of venue space.
• Generates weekly reports.
• Assists Marketing Department with wedding blog ideas, posts real time pictures to Facebook and other social media outlets, requests use of photographer pictures from each wedding, etc.

Education:

Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year College or university; or three to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Basic Required Skills:

• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to write speeches and articles for publication that conform to prescribed style and format. Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.
• Establishes and maintains open, collaborative relationships with employees and ensures employees do the same with them.
• Must be able to speak, read, write and understand the primary language(s) used in the workplace.
• Utilizes an “open door” policy, and reviews employee satisfaction results to identify and address employee problems or concerns.
• Requires good communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Must have knowledge of Microsoft software such as Excel, Word, and Outlook.
• May be required: to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form; to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Physical Demands:

• Work done indoor and outdoor depending on the venue. Indoor temperatures are moderate and controlled by SDI environmental systems. Outdoor temperatures vary based on seasonal climate.
• Must be able to stand and exert well-paced mobility for up to 5 hours in length.
• Must be able to exert a well-paced ability to maneuver between functions occurring simultaneously.
• Must be able to lift items weighing up to 100 lbs. as needed.
• Requires grasping, writing, standing, sitting, walking, repetitive motions, bending, climbing, listening, and hearing ability, and visual acuity.
• Talking and hearing occur continuously in the process of communicating with guests, supervisors, and other employees.
• Vision occurs continuously with the most common visual functions being those of near vision and depth perception.
• Requires manual dexterity to use and operate all necessary equipment.
