Job title: Head of MSAT Practices Excellence & External Innovation
Sanofi Global MSAT (Manufacturing Sciences, Analytics, and Technology) acts as a crucial link between our R&D and Manufacturing facilities, playing a vital role in securing the present portfolio and delivering future launches of high-quality and innovative drugs and vaccines. By driving its own transformation, Global MSAT fulfills an important function by providing day-to-day Manufacturing Support, focusing on technical and process aspects, effective Life Cycle Management, process robustness enhancement, and yield improvement to optimize performance.
We deliver 4.3 billion healthcare solutions to people every year, thanks to the flawless planning and meticulous eye for detail of our Manufacturing & Supply teams. With your talent and ambition, we can do even more to protect people from infectious diseases and bring hope to patients and their families. Your job, as Head of MSAT Practices Excellence & External Innovation within our MSAT team will be to contribute to the launch of 3 to 5 new products annually across various modalities, enabling us to reach and serve more patients and communities. Collaborate with a team of talented and passionate international experts, scientists, and project leaders who are dedicated to inventing, designing, and implementing cutting-edge industrial chemical and biological processes, analytical methods, and process modelling, all in support of Sanofi’s best-in-class ambition.
The MSAT practices excellence and external innovation team enhances the innovative potential of MSAT engaging with internal and external stakeholders. The senior experts set the best practices and design the optimal targeted techno standards recognized by the pharma industry.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Create and oversee a comprehensive long-term innovation strategy for MSAT
- Develop, strategize, and plan new initiatives and external partnerships that will drive innovation within MSAT and M&S finding the right balance between risk and innovation
- Monitor actively external market developments, benchmark and learn from other industries to recommend appropriate technologies and programs to achieve business objectives
- Influence opinion leaders and decision makers, internally with senior leaders and externally with Health Authorities, transversal groups, suppliers…
- Create and maintain agile innovation processes so the company can smoothly adjust to market changes
- Implement Scientific board across MSAT/M&S organization and in connection with R&D-CMC for technical support and decision-making for complex topics requiring senior advice.
- Build and sustain common innovation roadmap between CMC and MSAT and ensure continuum in innovation to accelerate product launches and sustainable process performance.
- Lead the MSAT practices excellence and external innovation team composed of 10-15 senior experts
- Drive complex change management & anchor the changes in MSAT and with connected functions, R&D-CMC, quality, regulatory.
- Lead talent development, organizational/cultural transformation and ensure performance mindset shift for the team
Basic Qualifications
- Education: PhD or engineer in life sciences, biotechnology or biochemistry
- Experience: More than 15 years of experience in pharma-CMC development embracing various cutting-edge technologies- Recognized as advanced expert.
- Proven experience leading innovation, managerial experience with extensive industry knowledge and an eye towards the future.
- Soft skills: Strategic thinking, adaptive thinking and strong critical mindset. Strong business acumen and presentation skills. Excellent interpersonal, leadership, and communication skills. Impact & influence top leaders & external bodies. Change management.
- Technical skills: scientific expert recognized. Risk Management methodology.
- Languages: English
