What are the responsibilities and job description for the HR Coordinator position at Sanova Dermatology?
This HR Coordinator role is instrumental in the successful delivery of high-level human resources programs for a multi-location dermatology practice. This role is part of a three-person HR team supporting over 200 employees in Texas and Louisiana and reports to the head of HR.
This is an in-office position based in our Pflugerville, Texas, office with the potential for occasional work from home after a training period. Sanova offers 9 paid holidays, 12 days of paid time off per year, and a complete benefits package (e.g. medical, 401(k), FSA, etc.).
Position Purpose and Description
The Human Resources Coordinator has the ability to complete human resources projects and respond to front-line employees and managers on topics including HR policy, benefits, payroll, reporting, and more.
To be successful in this role, the HR Coordinator must be capable of demonstrating follow through, accuracy, insight, and empathy in executing their duties. Impeccable communication skill is a requirement as well as the ability to be flexible when job demands change. The ability to speak up and assert oneself while demonstrating care and concern is vital.
Job Duties
- Serves as a first point of contact on employee questions and concerns.
- Creates and administers the company performance review processes.
- Serves as an integral member of the payroll process team by reviewing time, inputting adjustments, and preparing biweekly payroll for final approval.
- Arranges for and performs surveys such as employee satisfaction surveys and exit interviews.
- Runs reports as needed to respond to internet and external inquiries. Performs verifications of employment and fulfills other similar requests. Prepares responses to government agency data requests (e.g., EEO-1).
- Responds to questions regarding leaves of absences.
- Advises leaders on policy questions and people leadership issues such as discipline and performance management.
- Serves as a backup on employee onboarding and is able to answer questions about benefits and pay.
- Processes changes within the payroll system as needed and maintains records within the HR system as needed.
- Create and design engaging content for company announcements.
- Assists in the recruitment process to include candidate screening, interviewing, offers, background checks, and onboarding processing.
- Support leadership in implementing programs to help improve the employee experience.
- Performs all duties and services in full compliance with Sanova Dermatology Core Values. Maintains thorough communication with the HR team, corporate staff, company leadership, and all employees. Executes communication with high confidentiality and discretion.
- Day trips to Houston 1-2x per month, other travel on occasion.
- Other duties as assigned.
Position Eligibility Requirements
- Associate’s degree or higher education required. Bachelor’s degree is preferred.
- Two years of human resources or related experience preferred.
- PHR, SHRM-CP or similar credentials preferred.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required
- Microsoft Office and Google Suite competence
- Experience with or capability to master HR systems
- High level of interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential situations and documentation
- Well versed in employment law and able to assist in the resolution of employee issues in full compliance with state and federal law
- Excellent spelling, grammar, and written communication
- Customer-focused attitude
- Strong time management, organizational and planning skills.
