Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Registered Nurse - Infusion to join our healthcare team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in providing high-quality nursing care to patients requiring infusion therapy. This position demands a strong clinical background, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Duties
- Administer intravenous medications and therapies as prescribed by physicians.
- Monitor patients during infusion therapy to assess for any adverse reactions or complications.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized care plans.
- Educate patients and their families on treatment protocols, potential side effects, and self-care techniques.
- Maintain accurate patient records, including documentation of treatments and patient responses.
- Ensure compliance with safety protocols and infection control measures within the infusion setting.
- Provide support in assisted living environments, hospice palliative medicine, and home care settings as needed.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes and service delivery.
Experience
Candidates should possess the following skills and experience:
- Experience in assisted living, hospice palliative medicine, or home care is preferred.
- Familiarity with medical imaging procedures and botulinum toxin treatment is advantageous.
- Proficiency in catheterization techniques and experience working in inpatient settings are highly desirable.
- Knowledge of ICD-10 coding is beneficial for accurate documentation practices.
- Experience with electronic health record systems such as Athenahealth is a plus.
- Previous work in a Level II Trauma Center is an asset but not required.
