Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Registered Nurse - Infusion to join our healthcare team. This role is essential in providing high-quality patient care, particularly in administering infusions and managing patient health. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in nursing with a focus on infusion therapy, ensuring that patients receive the best possible care in a supportive environment.
Duties
- Conduct thorough patient assessments to determine individual needs and develop appropriate care plans.
- Administer intravenous (IV) medications and infusions safely and effectively.
- Monitor patients during infusion therapy, observing for any adverse reactions or complications.
- Maintain accurate and detailed patient records using electronic health record systems such as Epic and eClinicalWorks.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate comprehensive care for patients, including family planning and pain management strategies.
- Educate patients and their families about treatment plans, medication administration, and self-care practices.
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations to protect patient confidentiality and privacy.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives within the clinic or healthcare setting.
Skills
- Proficient in patient assessment techniques and MDS (Minimum Data Set) documentation.
- Experience in pediatrics is preferred but not mandatory.
- Knowledge of pain management practices to enhance patient comfort during treatment.
- Familiarity with memory care principles to support patients with cognitive impairments.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively interact with patients, families, and healthcare professionals.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team-oriented environment while maintaining individual accountability.
