Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Registered Nurse - Infusion to join our healthcare team. In this role, you will provide high-quality nursing care to patients receiving infusion therapies in a variety of settings, including ambulatory surgery centers and urgent care facilities. You will be responsible for assessing patient needs, administering medications, and ensuring the safety and comfort of patients throughout their treatment process.
Responsibilities
- Administer intravenous (IV) medications and infusions according to established protocols.
- Monitor patients for adverse reactions and manage any complications that arise during treatment.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to develop individualized care plans tailored to each patient's needs.
- Educate patients and their families about infusion therapies, potential side effects, and self-care practices.
- Maintain accurate patient records using electronic health systems such as Athenahealth and MDS coding.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards and infection control protocols in all procedures.
- Provide airway management support when necessary, particularly in emergency situations.
- Work effectively with children and senior care populations, adapting approaches as needed for different age groups.
Skills
- Experience in an ambulatory surgery center or urgent care environment is preferred.
- Proficient in the use of electronic health record systems, particularly Athenahealth.
- Knowledge of MDS coding practices is a plus.
- Strong understanding of esthetic laser treatment protocols is beneficial.
- Excellent airway management skills are essential for patient safety.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team while providing exceptional patient care.
- Compassionate communication skills to effectively interact with patients of all ages, including children and seniors.
