Job Summary
The Registered Nurse - Infusion is responsible for providing high-quality nursing care to patients receiving infusion therapy. This role involves assessing patient needs, administering medications and treatments, and ensuring the safety and comfort of patients throughout their infusion experience. The ideal candidate will possess strong clinical skills, a compassionate approach to patient care, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Duties
- Administer intravenous medications and therapies as prescribed by physicians.
- Monitor patients for adverse reactions during infusion treatments and respond appropriately.
- Maintain accurate patient records, documenting vital signs, medication administration, and any changes in patient condition.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized care plans.
- Educate patients and their families about infusion therapy, potential side effects, and infection control measures.
- Ensure compliance with hospital policies regarding infection control and safety protocols.
- Participate in critical care transport when necessary, providing acute pain management and ventilatory support as needed.
- Provide support in hospice palliative medicine settings when required.
Skills
- Strong knowledge of hospital medicine practices and protocols.
- Experience administering injections and managing intravenous lines.
- Familiarity with infection control standards to ensure patient safety.
