About the Role
Santo Domingo Pueblo, a thriving Indian Pueblo in New Mexico, seeks an experienced Early Childhood Education Specialist to join its team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing and implementing comprehensive protocols aligned with Office of Head Start Performance Standards. This role is crucial in supporting the educational needs of children aged birth to three years old through the Early Head Start program.
Key Responsibilities
As a School Readiness Social-Emotional Coach, you will mentor, coach, and assist teaching staff in developing quality child development and education practices. You will also facilitate and lead classroom sessions 50% of the time, focusing on school readiness outcomes for all children. In collaboration with family service staff, you will support the planning, organization, and delivery of developmentally appropriate practices tailored to individual and collective developmental abilities and potential of children.
Requirements
To excel in this position, you must have a bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education, Social Services, Child Development/Human Development, or a related field. A Master of Arts degree in these fields is preferred. Three to five years of experience in early childhood education are necessary, along with evidence of data collection and analysis that improves children's school-readiness goals. Strong communication skills, both written and oral, are essential, as well as proficiency in computer software. A valid New Mexico driver's license is required, and you must pass a criminal background check and drug screening. Additionally, you will need to obtain mandated training that meets OHS criteria and/or Pueblo and program requirements.
