The IT Project Manager is responsible for the planning, execution, and oversight of the successful implementation initiatives within the Information Technology organization. This role will be responsible for coordinating cross-functional teams, managing the job scope, timelines, and budget while ensuring that deliverables meet business objectives and quality standards.

 

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development of IT strategies aligned with the business goals, ensuring innovative solutions for long-term growth and efficiency.
  • Facilitate clear and consistent communication, including status reports, risk assessments, and issue resolution.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to analyze and define business requirements and processes, ensuring IT solutions meet business operational needs.
  • Analyze project proposals to determine time frame, funding limitations and appropriate process for accomplishing projects.
  • Identify and schedule project deliverables, milestones, and required activities and tasks.
  • Provide leadership and motivation to project team members throughout the project life cycle, and confer with project staff to outline a work plan.
  • Establish a work plan and staffing for project activities, iterations or phases, and arrange for recruitment or assignment of project personnel.
  • Direct and coordinate the activities of project personnel to ensure that projects progress on schedule and within budget.
  • Ability to plan, track and document various project information including requirements documentation, business rules, project milestones, issues, risks and action items.
  • Benchmark project management performance continuously to identify the potential for improvements and increase capability in project and portfolio management.

Work Environment: This position offers the flexibility of a hybrid schedule with the expectation of 3 days per week in our Chicago office, and 2 days remote from home.

Qualifications

Knowledge and Experience:

  • 3 years of experience in IT and business/industry.
  • Strong collaboration, teamwork and relationship building skills across multiple levels and functions in the organization.
  • Exceptional ability to lead change using positive and collaborative methods.
  • Skilled at conflict resolution and problem-solving to achieve win-win outcomes.
  • Ability to communicate technical or complex subject matter in business terms.
  • An outside-in focus: outstanding end-customer relationship skills.
  • Skilled at creating business requirements documents, use cases, user acceptance test plans, process flow and data flow diagrams.
  • Ability to adapt to new circumstances in a changing business environment.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of business needs, with the ability to establish and maintain a high level of customer trust and confidence.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop IT policies and procedures, ensuring alignment with industry standards and regulatory frameworks.
  • Highly self-motivated and accepts ownership and accountability for success.

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration or related field (or equivalent work experience).
