Position Summary:
Working in conjunction with the Director of Sales - Consumables, the Business Development Representative is responsible for growing and maintaining the sale and development of the Satellite consumables lines and associated products outside of the sanitation industry. In addition to seeking out new avenues of business, this position coordinates with the sales team, operations, product development department, and the customer to understand current and future industry needs to provide adequate solutions.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  •  Drive revenue growth by identifying new market opportunities, developing strategic relationships with key accounts, and executing sales strategies.
  • Utilize various prospecting methods to locate new business opportunities
  • Conduct reviews and market analysis to determine customer needs, price schedules and appropriate discount rates.
  • Collaborate with all sales on existing and new customer relationships to grow the consumables product category within them.
  • Manage individual business expenses to ensure resources are utilized appropriately to drive business growth and provide an adequate return on investment.
  • Direct and coordinate the business plan development of current and future products in conjunction with the product development department
  • Provide thorough documentation of customer engagements, pricing discussions and any commitments made.
  • Maintain the gross margin level to ensure that all profits and losses are monitored and reported
  • Attend industry trade events to present Satellite products and obtain sales leads via contact with potential customers.
  • Provide updated information and recommendations for product applications and suggest improvements to existing product lines.
  • Proposing and developing strategic partnerships     
  • Ensure the availability of stock for sales and demonstrations
  • Negotiate/close deals and handle complaints or objections 

Supervisory Responsibilities:
No Direct Reports.

Education and Experience Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in industry sales or business development.
  • Business Development requires significant business acumen and knowledge as well as advanced interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of industry standards and expectations to ensure accuracy of product development
  • Understanding of supply chain management and product development processes.
  • Strong sales experience required
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and adapt to changing market conditions.

Physical/Mental Demands:
Position requires a high degree of concentration to manage frequent interruptions while meeting strict deadlines. This position requires the ability to perform duties using both typical office equipment such as computers, cell phones, and printers as we; as the ability to communicate and perform tasks in an office environment. Must be able to perform physical and mental tasks associated with a manufacturing environment.
