Purpose Of Position
What You'll Do in This Position
Learn and perform cost control, planning and scheduling, estimating and financial analysis functions in support of a facilities operation, outage for maintenance or significant project work activity. Learn to and provide management and working levels with the capability of maintaining cost and schedule control throughout the life cycle of a project or work activity.
Major Responsibilities
Safety is a primary responsibility in each job performed. Obtain safety training, obey safety rules. and make safety an integral part of
each task. Take the necessary steps to stop work if continuing the job is unsafe or will create an unsafe conditions.
Under direct supervision, learns and performs basic Project Control activities. Those activities include, but are not limited to: - Collects data, inputs updates and produces basic cost management and commitment control (encumbrance) reports. Provides data input to scheduling, progress, and performance measurement systems. - Assists in performing forecasts, identifying variances and documenting causes - Assists in performing budget versus actual analysis, identifying variances and documenting causes. Gain the ability to present findings to financial and operational management. - Researches unexpected items and resolves inaccuracies. Learn to identify and propose and record journal vouchers. – Develops and maintains familiarity with scheduling/cost/accounting basic terminology as well as its principles and concepts. (to include understanding of funds and management variances). - Provide administrative services in addition to assisting senior personnel in the development of budgets, reports and assigned activities. – Gains understanding of and ensures that all work performed adheres to SRNS policies and procedures. Comply with team processes and practices for execution of assigned tasks. - Proactively communicate and coordinate with others to provide support for assigned tasks - Develop and maintain technical expertise in assigned Specialty - Complete assigned administrative tasks in a timely and quality fashion. - Acquires knowledge of and applies Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) and Cost Elements to work activities. Recommends changes to the WBS, Code of Accounts and Cost Elements, where needed.
Security Clearance Information
SRNS is required by DOE to conduct a pre-employment drug test and background review that includes checks of personal references, credit, criminal records, and employment history, and education verifications. Positions with SRNS may require applicants to obtain and maintain a DOE L or Q-level security clearance, which requires U.S. citizenship. Factors such as pre-employment background review results, dual citizenship status, and unpaid and/or unfiled taxes may impact your ability to obtain a security clearance. This list of factors is not exhaustive; pre-employment information and security clearance requests are reviewed on a case-by-case basis.
