Financial Analyst Intern
Team Overview
The Corporate Planning & Management team is responsible for key financial reporting and planning processes, including the weekly Management Committee report, annual planning and quarterly forecasting, month-end management reporting, and the review of direct/variable expenses and allocations. Additionally, the team manages divisional P&L and oversees various regulatory reporting requirements. Daily responsibilities encompass a mix of routine tasks, project-based initiatives, and ad-hoc financial analyses.
Position Overview
The ideal candidate will work closely with Managing Directors, VPs, and clients, playing a critical role in coordinating month-end close, preparing management reports, analyzing internal allocations, addressing regulatory-related requests, and supporting annual planning and quarterly forecasting. This role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to interpret financial data, identify key relationships, and flag potential concerns. The successful candidate should be highly motivated, detail-oriented, and client-focused.
Responsibilities
Specific responsibilities are likely to vary over time but will include:
- Analyze P&L and balance sheet from client financial documents
- Developing and implementing forecast and valuation models on key KPIs to provide data-driven insights.
- Prepare financial reports for senior management, including both regular and ad-hoc reports.
- Assist in coordinating with Corporate Planning & Management teams to ensure accurate booking and reporting of revenue, expenses, and business metrics.
- Conduct month-end analysis related to internal allocations.
- Collaborate with Engineering and Controllers to enhance reporting processes and develop more robust reporting tools.
- Support senior management in annual planning, quarterly forecasting, and Business Planning Committee presentations.
- Compile various analyses required to meet the firm’s regulatory obligations.
Qualifications
- Background in finance, accounting, or a related quantitative field
- Currently pursuing a college or university degree
- Intermediate knowledges or interest to learn at least one of the following programming language: Python, SQL, R, Matlab, SAS
- Strong analytical and quantitative abilities with keen attention to detail
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Strong organizational and coordination capabilities
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
- Proficient in managing, organizing, and analyzing large datasets
- Proficiency in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint is essential
- Collaborative team player, willing to assist beyond assigned responsibilities
- Self-motivated and adaptable, with the ability to handle multiple tasks
