Job Title: Director of Sales and Marketing
FLSA Classification: Exempt (Salary)
Salary Range: $105,000 - $145,000 per annum, plus quarterly/annual bonus incentive plan

Job Description
Summary/objective: The Director of Sales and Marketing is responsible for overall marketing, sales and public relation efforts supporting and maintaining brand consistency. He/she oversees training and supervises the hotel’s sales and marketing team to ensure consistent occupancy with both group and transient business. Works closely with the General Manager and Marketing to determine appropriate sales strategies in all market segments towards maximizing the hotel revenues. The primary focus of the Director of Sales and Marketing will be to provide support on projects designed to maximize company profits, including the creation of content and development of sales and marketing campaigns.

- Need to perform a variety of tasks related to sales, marketing, public relations and special projects including working with advertising and public relations agencies.
- Track existing marketing campaigns to completion and report on results
- Use revenue management resources to maximize ADR and occupancy.
- Achieves or exceeds sales goals and hotel budgets
- Ensure Sales team is visible and active in the community
- Develop strategies to improve existing and past business efforts
- Analyze data to uncover property and industry trends
- Create and facilitate programing and customer events
- Collaborate with colleagues in other departments, including advertising, production, sales, and distribution
- Facilitate sales presentations by gathering relevant resources including proposals, slide decks, videos, quotations, and other information as requested
- Design and create marketing materials such as brochures and fliers by writing copy and formatting content and graphics
- Responsible for web and social media content
- Adjusting strategy based on competitive market and market segment knowledge
- Ensuring that the property is maximizing the use of all company, brand and local programs
- Coordinate Corporate Outreach Sales Effort
- Perform all other duties as assigned by management.
Work environment
- To perform this job successfully, the individual must be able to stand, move and work throughout the office area and property, including walking up to 1 ½ mile, climbing stairs and sitting at a desk/workstation for the duration of the shift.
- Typically, the individual will be housed in an office environment. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
- Must be able to grasp, bend, lift and/or carry or otherwise move goods weighing a minimum of 25 lbs. on an intermittent basis, and sufficient dexterity of hand, in order to use office equipment including, but not limited to: a computer keyboard, calculator, general office equipment and multi-line telephone.
- Working conditions are based in a hospitality setting

- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit.
- Language Skills: Working knowledge of the English language is mandatory as well as the ability to speak, read and write clearly.

Qualifications
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Supervise and direct the Sales and Marketing associates
- Constantly monitor staff performance in all phases of service and job functions, ensuring that all procedures are carried out.
- Interview, recommend hiring, schedule, train, develop, empower, coach and counsel, resolve problems, provide open communication, recommend and conduct performance and salary reviews, recommend discipline and termination, as appropriate.
- Conduct all training programs and have regular meetings to increase staff performance and knowledge.
- Constantly monitor staff performance in all phases of service and job functions, ensuring that all procedures are carried out.
- Providing support and coaching for team members to drive high levels of performance, job satisfaction, and personal growth
- Monitoring internal and external sales and marketing activities/performance to ensure revenue goals meet or exceed established plan and accurately reporting variance/projections monthly

Required education and experience
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business, or graphic design or equivalent
- Approximately 4-6 years’ experience in marketing and content creation
- Strong technical skills including WordPress, Excel, PowerPoint, Photoshop
- Must be able to write web and social media content
- Must have excellent organizational skills, be computer literate, have the ability to work with all departments and have excellent customer relation skills.
- Proficient in the use of computers, particularly marketing technology applications
- Ability to handle multiple projects with varied timelines
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Ability to adapt to change in a fast-paced environment
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent public speaking and interpersonal skills
Additional eligibility requirements
- Maintains all current licenses and certifications
- Be familiar with all Hotel services/features and local attractions/activities to respond to guest inquiries accurately.
- Maintains high standards for work area and appearance and presents self in highly professional manner to staff and guest.
- Available days, evenings, weekends, holidays, and extended hours as business dictates.
