Textile Company seeking Associate Product Development Manager. This role requires a combination of regular Product Development skills and the ability to coordinate and manage all aspects of the development process. Product categories are Table linens, Kitchen and Bath textiles, and some Decorative pillows. Must have Textile experience.

- Work with the Senior PD and Sales Manager to understand the needs for each season and the number of products we are looking to add to the collections in each category. We want to broaden our offering of “looks and styles” without over-developing.
- Solicit feedback from sales regarding what our customers are looking for – designs, looks, pricing.
- Work off customer-specific design guides to make sure we hit all the key needs of our customers.
- Regular review during each development cycle with the Senior PD and Sales Manager to make sure the assortment and price points make sense for our customers so we can adjust and fill in as we go.
- Daily communication with factories on all product-related matters.
- Keep track of sample submits and maintain status using the following tracking tools: Time and Action and Work in Process grids.
- Review lab dips, strike-offs, and sample submits (review with Senior PD in the beginning) and communicate comments to the factories.
- Submitting items for approval to our Retailers and Licensors and following up with their teams.
- Stay in touch with in-house artists on projects, making sure all is on schedule.
- Communicate with overseas factories relating to product development, sourcing/pricing for new items, and sample requests.
- Manage vendor cost sheets – review the accuracy of the item specs, carton information and pricing. Save in the Internal Costing Management Files. Work with Sales Manager on challenges to negotiate with vendor when needed.
- Manage and track retailers private label development and approval steps with each retailer contact and responsible for checking and loading communications into the vendor portals.
- Attend and participate in weekly meetings with current departments: design, production, packaging, and sales.
- Attend and participate in Customer meetings for the products under your control.
- Manage sample requests for specified categories with design and packaging teams.
- Responsible for maintaining product presentations for each category and updating presentation lines with new samples. Ordering samples and strike-offs for presentation purposes.
Salary : $85,000 - $120,000
