Scales and Tails Exotic Pet Clinic is hiring for a receptionist/customer care position
We are a privately owned, busy and growing exotics vet practice located in Southwest Portland on Beaverton-Hillsdale Highway. Our main focus is progressive veterinary medicine, top quality patient care, teamwork, and providing superior customer service. We are open Tuesday through Saturday and closed on Sundays and Mondays. Our ideal candidates are hard working, can work with minimal direction after training, take directions well, be a self-starter, able to work weekends and evenings, and have a lot of enthusiasm helping the team care for pets and their people.
Position available for an entry level veterinary receptionist. Experience with exotics is a plus. Competitive wages with benefits at 90 days.
Primary job responsibilities for these entry level position include:
- Answering the phone and responding to voicemails.
- Appropriately scheduling appointments for clients & patients.
- Taking payments from clients after visits.
- Monitoring and sending text messages and emails for the clinic.
- Relaying forms between clients and the technicians at appointment check in times.
- Sending out mail communication between the clinic and clients.
- Perform clerical duties including scanning and recording documents appropriately.
- Providing support to the receptionist(s)/technician(s)/veterinarian(s) when needed.
Job skills and qualifications:
- Time management skills and ability to prioritize tasks, especially if there is a high volume.
- Attention to detail to maintain the best quality of communication and care between clients and the clinic.
- Positive attitude in client communications in person, on the phone, and through written communication.
- Strong organizational skills to keep the schedule and the clinic organized.
- Administrative skills to be able to use basic computer programs. A high typing capability is preferred.
- Ability and flexibility to multitask and be able to move between activities and tasks quickly if priorities change.
- Capability to lift upwards of 50 lbs safely and be on your feet for most of the day.
- Ability to be able to sit for extended periods of time when performing receptionist/clerical duties.
- Strong communication skills to accurately and timely relay messages between clients and the technician(s)/veterinarian(s).
- Most importantly, being a hard working, honest, dependable, and punctual worker with the drive to learn and grow with our practice.
