What are the responsibilities and job description for the Print Production Specialist position at Schatz Strategy Group?

Are you a print production professional? Schatz Publishing Group is seeking a detail-oriented and well-organized print production specialist with experience managing a wide range of both standard and specialty print products. Experience should include coordinating multi-faceted print projects, planning print production schedules and requirements, tracking cost and time expenditures, and analyzing, interpreting, and applying printing guidelines, policies, and procedures while ensuring quality and on-time deliveries.

Responsibilities:

· Identify and complete Government Publishing Office (GPO) forms, including Print Orders, Printing and Binding Requisitions, and Simplified Purchase Agreements.

· Compile printing specifications, review printers’ proofs, and attend press inspections as necessary.

· Exercise quality control by assuring the published information is accurate, complete, and conforms to established standards and specifications.

· Review and confirm the completeness and acceptability of materials and printing processes.

· Ensure efficiencies in the production process, including during final file preparation, prepress inspection, press sheet inspection, and publishing.

· Consistently meet deadlines even under time constraints.

· Identify malfunctions and deviations from accepted performance criteria.

· Utilize strong time management skills to establish priorities and develop schedules.

· Manage invoicing and billing.

· Develop regular status reports.

Qualifications:

· Must have comprehensive knowledge of printing terms and techniques, papers, inks, varnishes and other coatings, binding and finishing types, distribution of printed material, and warehousing.

· Must possess a strong understanding of printing technology and press types.

· Must be able to ensure adherence to GPO printing regulations and requirements.

· Must possess extensive customer service skills and the ability to communicate with others efficiently and tactfully.

· Must be able to work well in a fast-paced and deadline-driven print environment.

· Must be proficient in using software that is current to the printing industry, including the latest version of the Microsoft Office application suite, Access, and Adobe Creative Cloud.

· Must have 3 to 5 years of experience working with GPO forms, regulations, and production processes.

This is a fulltime onsite position in Washington, DC.
