Job Overview:
Metro Sports Foundation is looking for a proactive and highly skilled Facility Manager to oversee the daily operations and maintenance of the Scheels Arena. The ideal candidate will have experience in facility management, a strong understanding of the unique needs of a sports/event venue, and a commitment to ensuring a safe, efficient, and welcoming environment for all guests and staff. This role involves managing a team, coordinating facility maintenance, ensuring compliance with safety regulations, and overseeing the general operations of the arena.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee and manage the daily operations of the arena, including ice maintenance, event setup, equipment management, and facility cleanliness.
Supervise and lead the facility maintenance team, providing training, support, and performance evaluations.
Ensure the ice surface is maintained to the highest standards, including regular resurfacing, temperature regulation, and overall quality control.
Perform regular inspections of the facility, including ice rink, seating areas, locker rooms, restrooms, and other common spaces, ensuring all areas meet safety and cleanliness standards.
Coordinate facility repairs, upgrades, and capital projects, working with contractors and vendors to ensure quality and timeliness.
Manage the building’s HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and security systems, troubleshooting issues as necessary and coordinating any required repairs.
Respond to emergency situations, such as equipment malfunctions, medical incidents, or weather-related concerns, in a timely and professional manner.
Maintain inventory of supplies and equipment, ensuring that necessary items are readily available for smooth operations.
Develop and manage budgets for the facility’s maintenance, repairs, and upgrades, tracking expenditures and ensuring cost efficiency.
Coordinate with AGM on staffing for events, including game day operations, security, and customer service personnel.
Oversee scheduling of ice time, events, and practices to optimize usage and minimize downtime.
Qualifications:
Knowledge of ice rink operations, including ice maintenance, refrigeration systems, and equipment handling.
Strong leadership and team management skills, with experience supervising staff in a high-demand environment.
Excellent organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
Ability to troubleshoot and resolve facility maintenance issues promptly.
Strong knowledge of building systems, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and safety protocols.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to work effectively with vendors, contractors, and stakeholders.
Strong understanding of health, safety, and fire regulations in a public venue.
Work closely with AGM and external partners to meet the technical and logistical needs for each event, from conferences to concerts.
Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays, as needed for events and facility operations.

Pay: $46,000.00 - $48,000.00 per year
