Responsibilities:
Smart, experienced legal secretary with accredited university gpa of 3.5 or better or top 10% of graduating high school class to work
- Provide administrative support to attorneys and legal teams
- Answer and direct phone calls with professionalism and courtesy, keeping a call list and follow up, schedule appointments
- Draft, proofread, and edit legal documents, including correspondence, pleadings, discovery and lawsuits
- Maintain and organize legal files and documents
- Assist in legal case management, including calendaring deadlines and scheduling appointments
- Conduct interviews with clients and witnesses to gather information for legal cases
- Spanish speaking assisting with translation. Transcribe dictations and prepare accurate written transcripts
- File documents with courts and government agencies as required
- Assist paralegals in conducting legal research and drafting legal documents
Requirements:
- 3 years Proven experience as a legal secretary or similar role at a trial firm
- Proficient in using Filevine, WPDOCS,or similar document management software
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Knowledge of legal terminology and procedures
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion in handling sensitive information
- Detail-oriented with strong proofreading skills
- Familiarity with legal drafting techniques
