Summary
As a VDP (Variable Data Print Programmer) Department Manager, you will play a crucial role in the creation and management of processes and personnel involved in personalized data-driven communication materials. You will be responsible for managing workflows, timelines, evaluations, and personnel involved in all aspects of programming and developing variable data projects, ensuring accurate and efficient delivery of customized print and digital communications.
- Develop and Manage Variable Data Print and Digital projects using XMPie, Adobe InDesign, and Microsoft Excel.
- Program / prepare soft and live proofs.
- Programming includes template setup, laying out variable fields with static text and graphics and merging the setup with data for proofing and printing.
- Manage staff of VDP Department.
- Create and oversee processes and process improvement.
- Review and verify work before it leaves the department for accuracy.
- Ensure accuracy and quality control of variable data output, adhering to client specifications and industry standards.
- Perform quality checks and control, code review and standard data validation practices prior to production release.
- Troubleshoot and resolve any programming issues that may arise during the production process.
- Maintain up-to-date documentation of processes and projects.
- Work alongside the other members of the management team.
- Ensure company policies and procedures are followed.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Proficiency in XMPie, Adobe InDesign, and Microsoft Excel.
- Experience with other programming languages.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent Problem-Solving skills and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Experience in the print or communications industry.
- Some knowledge of USPS Regulations.
- Strong managerial experience.
