SUMMARY AND PURPOSE
- The Training and Development Manager is responsible for assessing the skills, performance, productivity and talents of potential Service Technicians and Field Controls Engineers for Pacteon and preparing written evaluations with advice for improvement.
- Deepen the understanding of products, customers, goals, organization, and business strategies, evaluating systems and processes, and identifying improvement needs.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Candidate Qualification: Develop tools to assess the skills and talents of potential Service Technicians and Field Controls Engineers
- Curriculum Development: Design and develop engaging, comprehensive training materials (manuals, presentations, videos, eLearning modules) for automated packaging systems, including Fanuc robots and Allen Bradley PLCs.
- Training Delivery: Conduct hands-on and classroom-based training sessions for customer personnel, covering operation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and safety procedures.
- Needs Assessment: Assess Field Personnel and Customer training needs in order to tailor programs accordingly, ensuring alignment with their specific applications and skill levels.
- Training Materials Management: Create, maintain and update training materials to reflect the latest technologies and best practices.
- Continuous Improvement: Evaluate training effectiveness, gather feedback, and continuously improve training programs to enhance internal and external customer learning and satisfaction.
- Collaboration: Work closely with engineering, sales, and service teams to ensure seamless knowledge transfer and customer support.
- Travel up to 50%.
PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS
- Education:
- A.S. in Technology or Engineering fields or US Military Master Training Specialist certificate
- Experience:
- 5 years of work experience as a Technical Training Manager or similar role
- Record of driving training with a remote workforce
- Developing training course content for novices and experts
- Skills:
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain technical terms using simple language
- Technical writing
