- Teach foundational dance techniques in multiple styles (e.g., ballet, jazz, modern, hip-hop, cultural dance forms).
- Foster an inclusive, welcoming classroom environment that encourages students to express themselves creatively through dance.
- Regularly assess student progress, provide constructive feedback, and clearly communicate student achievements to families.
- Plan and direct student dance performances, recitals, and showcase events throughout the school year.
- Collaborate effectively with colleagues, school leadership, and families to support student growth and enrich the overall school community.
- Maintain classroom management in accordance with district guidelines and policies.
- Valid California Single Subject Credential in Physical Education or Dance, or eligibility to obtain credential (California offers reciprocity for out-of-state educators).
- English Learner (EL) Authorization or eligibility to acquire from the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing.
- Previous experience teaching dance to diverse student populations preferred.
- Strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.
