What are the responsibilities and job description for the 2025 Harvest Internship position at Schramsberg Vineyards Company?
We are seeking energized Harvest interns to assist in the production of premier sparkling and red still wines at Schramsberg and Davies Vineyards. Both programs have a history of excellence, with Schramsberg maintaining a quality of excellence for nearly 60 years and Davies crafting high-end Pinot Noir and Cabernet Sauvignon since 2001.
Work Responsibilities
- Winery cleaning and sanitation
- Vineyard sample processing
- Aid in press loading and unloading, including forklift training
- Press operation and press cuts execution
- Tank rackings and movements
- Fermentation inoculations and additions
- Cleaning and filling barrels, along with general maintenance
- Tank and barrel sampling
- Pumpovers and punchdowns
- Sorting line assistance
- Other duties as assigned by Winemaking staff
Qualifications
- Available early July to end of November (at minimum)
- Able to work long hours during Harvest
- Able to lift 50 lbs
- Able to walk, kneel and bend for long periods of time
- Able to climb stairs and walk across uneven surfaces
- May be exposed to hot, cold, and noisy environments
- Valid Driver's License with a clean driving record
