CNC Machinist Job Description
Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled CNC Machinist to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will have the ability to read technical drawings, possess a strong understanding of machining processes and the ability to operate and setup CNC mills and lathes. This role is essential in producing high-quality parts and components that meet our customers' specifications. The CNC Machinist will work closely with engineers and production teams to ensure optimal performance and efficiency in the manufacturing process.
Responsibilities
- Set up and operate CNC machines, including 3-axis milling machines and lathes to produce parts to customer requested specifications.
- Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications to determine machining operations.
- Able to use manual measurement tools to verify work completed.
- Conduct routine maintenance on machines to ensure optimal performance and longevity.
- Collaborate with team members to improve work processes and increase efficiency.
- Fabricate tooling as needed for specific projects or production runs.
- Operate forklifts safely for material handling within the production area.
- Troubleshoot any issues that arise during the machining process and make necessary adjustments as needed
Requirements
- Proven experience as a CNC Machinist or similar role in a manufacturing environment.
- Proficiency in blueprint reading and understanding technical specifications.
- Experience operating milling machines and other CNC equipment is essential.
- Knowledge of GD&T standards is highly desirable.
- Ability to use coordinate measuring machines (CMM) for quality assurance tasks.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Forklift certification is preferred but not mandatory.
