Attention to recording detail and communication are necessary. Following fieldwork, the applicant may be assigned to write the results of the fieldwork. Applicants without archaeological field or report writing experience in Hawaii shall be mentored by an SCS archaeologist.

Time and task management are also essential skills. Work shall necessitate shifting gears between concurrent projects and tasks. A valid driver’s license and the applicant’s own insured automobile are required. The applicant shall be able to perform their work independently and in a team setting, including working with other personnel encountered on the jobsite. Applicants must be legally documented to work within the United States. When necessary, travel to other Hawaiian Islands may be required.
