RN - PSE Surgery - Casual Status - La Jolla

Scripps Health Administrative Services supports our five hospitals and 19 outpatient facilities, which treat half a million patients annually through 2,600 affiliated physicians.

This is a Casual Status also known as a Per Diem position located at Scripps Memorial Hospital in La Jolla. The ideal availability for this role is 1 day per week and 3 days per month is the minimum required availability.

The primary duties of a Pre Surgical Evaluation Registered Nurse in this position include:

• Provides direct patient care within the scope of his/her practice. Patient care includes assessment, planning and implementing a plan of care and evaluating patients' progress towards expected outcomes.
• Takes primary responsibility for the patients' care as delivered by the Care Team under his/her supervision.
• Works collaboratively with other members of the patient care team to ensure optimal patient care.

Required Education/Experience/Specialized Skills/Certifications:

• Current CA RN License
• Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support
• One (1) year of recent RN experience in an acute care setting, preferably in PSE
• Must be able to speak, read and follow instructions in English.
• Must be able to demonstrate positive behaviors.

Preferred Education/Experience/Specialized Skills/Certifications:

• Bachelor's degree in nursing
• Telemetry experience
• Pre-Op/PACU experience
