SUMMARY: The HR Generalist serves as a strategic partner to the Seaboard Energy Kansas leadership, overseeing all recruiting, onboarding, and offboarding processes while ensuring compliance with company policies and employment regulations. This role drives key HR initiatives, including performance management, employee relations, training, and compliance programs, while maintaining accurate HR records and supporting organizational decision-making to enhance workplace culture and effectiveness.

Responsibilities
- Manage all recruiting activities for the Hugoton Renewable Diesel refinery. Support hiring managers in filling open positions with qualified candidates. This includes reviewing applications, conducting phone screens, scheduling interviewing, supporting decision making efforts by the hiring team, and extending offers. Collaborate with Corporate level HR in coordinating on-site interviews for higher level positions.
- Manage the end-to-end onboarding and offboarding processes, ensuring accurate and timely completion of all administrative tasks, including pre-employment screenings, I-9 documentation, benefits enrollment, and onboarding paperwork. Provide support and guidance to managers and new employees throughout the process.
- Drive all cyclical HR activities for the site, including open enrollment, performance management, compliance trianing cycles.
- Maintain current employee personnel files related to HR ensuring compliance and record retention requirements are met.
- Conduct HR-related training for employees and managers, including anti-harassment, performance management, and policy updates.
- Ensure accurate and compliant data entry into the HRIS, maintaining data integrity and system compliance. Generate and analyze reports as needed to support business operations and decision-making.
- Maintain a comprehensive understanding of all company policies and procedures to effectively respond to inquiries, complaints, and concerns from managers and employees.
- Assist with employee relations initiatives and activities, including employee recognition programs, conflict resolution support, employee engagement surveys, stay interviews, team-building activities, wellness programs, and workplace culture initiatives.
- Serve as a strategic business partner to the site leadership team, providing support in decision-making, employee development, and overall organizational health. Assist with the preparation of business reports, correspondence, and confidential materials to drive informed leadership decisions.
- Bachelor’s degree required; or equivalent combination of education and experience accepted.
- 2 year’s experience in professional HR role required
- Exceptional organization skills and ability to prioritize while being a team player and assisting when needed
- Working knowledge of all Microsoft products required
- Solid understanding of labor laws (EEOC, FLSA, FMLA, ADA) and HR fundamentals
- Experience with HRIS required
- Some travel required
